I was actually surprised to find that this speical has no reveiws. I personally have become quite a Sengoku Basara fan and I enjoy all the episodes, including the episodes. The interaction between the two rivals, Motochika Chosokabe and Motonari Mori is fierce and Mori always gets to my nerves. Also, the actions of Keiji throughout this speical are very amusing and he makes me laugh no matter what he's doing. But, the rewatch value of this episode is low to me, I may watch it again if I ever feel the need to watch the epicness that is of the Ogre of the Seas. But, I haverewatched the first season of SB at least three times now, but each time, I've skipped the speical at the end of the disk (I have it on blue-ray) everytime cept that first time I watched it. I didn't even bother to watch it the second I re-watched the anime in Japanese (watched it in English at first)nnIf you ever plan on watching SB on DVD, I personally recommend the Blue-ray addition, to me, it was cheaper than the original and it was well worth it ^^ I effect of the Blue-Ray really brought out the excellence of that is SB, so if you enjoyed the games and enjoyed the anime, you should give this special a try before you dis it

This special takes place just before and during the final episode of the main series first season. Basically it's just to explain how Motochika and Motonari put aside their differences to take down the Oda once and for all. It feels a little rushed, like a side story they planned on fleshing out more but didn't have time for so they just threw it all into a single episode and included it as a DVD bonus. It makes sense that they cut it out, as it probably would have distracted too much from the main narrative of Yukimura and Masamune they were trying to focuson.nnIt felt like Motonari got too much of a pass for clearly reprehensible behavior, and the single friendship speech from Keiji was a bit too much talk-no-jutsu for my liking. Overall I feel like it's a special that'd be good for introducing who these characters are if you didn't know them already, but skipping it wouldn't detract much from your experience watching the anime series. 7/10
