    Synopsis:

    Kakeru Daichi’s passion for collecting vintage beverage cans takes an unexpected turn when a chance encounter leads him to a girl named Melon. He soon discovers Melon isn't ordinary; she is an Akikan, a being manifested within a specially crafted can, participating in a peculiar experiment assessing the durability of steel versus aluminum.

    Kakeru finds himself entangled in this unusual research as he becomes responsible for Melon’s unique needs – her dependence on carbon dioxide to sustain her existence. The situation escalates when Kakeru's childhood friend also receives an Akikan, initiating a series of unforeseen challenges and raising questions about the ethical implications of the experiment. The series explores themes of identity, connection, and the boundaries between human and manufactured life within a vibrant, contemporary setting.
