Synopsis:

In a realm existing between life and death, seventeen-year-old Yuzuru Otonashi awakens with amnesia, thrust into a peculiar afterlife school. This unconventional institution houses those who perished under unfortunate circumstances, fostering resentment towards a divine authority embodied by the student council president, Kanade Tachibana, known as Angel. Driven by a desire for agency, a faction called the Afterlife Battlefront seeks to challenge Angel's control, and Otonashi is drawn into their ranks by Yuri Nakamura.

As Otonashi navigates this strange world, he becomes increasingly conflicted by the Battlefront’s methods. He begins investigating Angel, seeking to understand her perspective and the complex history that shapes their shared fate. The series explores themes of injustice, rebellion, and the search for meaning in a world where traditional concepts of morality are challenged. It presents a contemplative narrative centered on questioning authority and the implications of seeking self-determination within a predetermined existence.
