    Synopsis:

    Set against the backdrop of Japan’s tumultuous Bakumatsu period, this anime follows Takasugi Shinsaku and his companion Katsura Kogorou as they embark on a clandestine mission. Driven by a sense of urgency for their nation's destiny, they infiltrate a government vessel seeking a powerful artifact—a device rumored to control time. Their initial goal is to prevent the government from monopolizing this potentially dangerous technology. However, the artifact’s theft forces them into a chase leading to Kyoto, only to discover a drastically altered reality: the government has fallen and the god Susanoo now holds sway. Disillusioned by the changes to their homeland, Takasugi and Katsura are compelled to continue their mission—to reclaim the time-altering device and restore the timeline, confronting new adversaries in the process. The series explores themes of national identity, historical consequence, and the struggle to preserve one's vision of the future.
