Synopsis:
The series follows Asou Daisuke, a talented high school artist grappling with creative stagnation. His artistic drought is reignited by a heartfelt request from his childhood friend, Tachibana Amane. Amane encourages Daisuke to paint a portrait of Kimikage Yurina, a young woman facing a critical surgery. As Daisuke meticulously captures Yurina's likeness, he confronts not only the challenges of artistic expression but also the unspoken affections shared between himself and Amane. The narrative explores themes of artistic rediscovery, the complexities of friendship, and the subtle nuances of unrequited love, all set against the backdrop of everyday high school life and the poignant anticipation surrounding Yurina's fate. It’s a character-driven story emphasizing emotional depth over high-octane action.

I suppose this anime was decent at best. I didn't really expect much out of 2 episodes, so I guess it did exceed my expectations. The story was rushed, but I guess that's to be expected. The art and animation were also very poor, but you can't really expect more from low-budget OVAs. The characters had a surprising amount of depth to them. They acted in ways that really exceeded my expectations. They actually had deep and complex emotions, unlike you ordinary OVA character, so I came away impressed by that. Overall, it wasn't a total waste of time to watch this series, but itwasn't a life-changing experience either. I would recommend it to anyone who has seen Canvas 2 or has little time and wants to watch a quick romance. Beware, this show does contain a small amount of hentai, but there is worse out there. If you have some time to kill with nothing better to do, try this show. -

i cannot begin to believe that something as pathetic as this would exist in the first place, canvas 1 is not only one of the worst anime that i've ever seen but IS the worst anime that i have seen, i now know why many fans of anime have never heard of this title story: pretty hard to understand, you will have to wait atleast 5 minutes to have the slightest clue what is going on exactly, even after then you still may not get it, but it apparently is about some kid named daisuke who has an interest in painting, while the other half isabout some schoolgirl trying to win him over from others, that's about everything you need to know for the storynnart: this bad excuse for an anime makes even the naruto and bleach filler artwork look good, the pc game is much better with detail but at times the ova is too ugly to look atnnsound: if you hate your anime having little or no deep speaking voice actors then this is right for you, or not... i cannot stand the main character daisuke's voice, i found it to be equivalent to the 4kids voice of luffy, this was possibly the only redeeming factor of this anime as i did not find the other voice actors to be all that badnncharacter: you have your usual harem cast here, who lack originality in personality, however instead of the single male character which might be liked by viewers, the one in this ova was the oppositennenjoyment: my enjoyment quickly turned to hatred one episode in, which was atleast 5 minutes, if you managed to like both episodes then you are only kidding yourselfnnoverall: i am glad that an anime such as this only has 2 episodes and is not known to the public, because it does not deserve to be known, i can also now see why something like this would not be dubbed or aired on tvndo yourself a favor, watch canvas 2 insteadnand if you happen to find a copy of the first canvas ova, either ingore or destroy it in anyway possible
