Synopsis:
Eiri Kurahashi, a quiet art student assisting at his family’s antique shop, experiences a gradual shift in his personality, marked by increasing distraction and unusual behavior. His friends suspect an external influence when Eiri becomes fixated on a captivating figure seemingly trapped within a Venetian glass ornament acquired by his uncle.
The girl, named Cossette d'Auvergne, appears to inhabit a world confined to the glass, yet her image permeates Eiri’s thoughts and artistic endeavors. Through sketches and research, Eiri uncovers a tragic history linking Cossette to a portrait by Italian artist Marchello Orlando – a tale of familial loss and untimely death. A chance encounter late one night leads to direct communication with Cossette, prompting Eiri to enter into an ambiguous agreement with the ethereal presence residing within the glass. The narrative explores themes of obsession, memory, and the blurred boundaries between reality and illusion, set against a backdrop of historical intrigue and melancholic beauty.
