Synopsis:
Displaced in an unfamiliar realm, a young woman embarks on a solitary quest to understand the nature of affection. Her internal conflict manifests as a duality – two distinct personas embodying contrasting philosophies about love: one advocating for its acquisition, the other championing selfless offering. These facets of her personality engage in a symbolic game of poker, the outcome representing a deeper truth about connection. The narrative unfolds within a subtly surreal setting, exploring themes of self-discovery and the complexities inherent in interpersonal relationships. Through evocative visuals and understated character interactions, the anime examines how personal experiences shape our understanding of love and its role in defining who we are. It's a contemplative journey into emotional landscape, prioritizing internal struggle over external conflict.

The story features two personalities of the same girl wondering what love is about (giving or taking). The art and animation are very well on par with the music's pacing and the use of DECO*27's Rock genre instruments fits the story really well. Marina's singing is also done so in a very melodic voice, dragging the words and notes brilliantly to emphasize their meaning. She also matches her singing to the beat of the song. The song also has a very catchy chorus which is repeated with a different intonation, which follows the emotions of the characters. The build up movement from the music is alsovery inspiring. I also found that the many breaks in the song for instrumental queues to be appropriately enjoyful. nnHope you enjoy or have enjoyed it as much as I did! -

(First of all: since it's a review of a 4-minutes music video, I'm focusing more on the visuals, story [told by the lyrics] and sound, so character rating is almost irrelevant for the overral and enjoyment ratings.) What is the most important, valorize yourself or let yourself fall in love for someone? Egomama, a song compose by the well-known Vocaloid composer Deco*27 and performed by marina (which is very known as Iwasawa vocals in Angel Beats! songs), tells the internal struggle of a girl in order to find the answer for this question. This music video has some nice animation and charming designs, fitting perfectly the lyricsand sound. And marina's voice is amusing - still not so good as in her Angel Beats! songs, but still outstanding. nnIn the end, I can say Egomama is one of the most amazing animated music video out there, with some nice romantic meaning.
