Set against the backdrop of 6th century China, this series chronicles the formative years of Kong Fuzi, better known as Confucius. Beginning with a childhood marked by loss and shaped by his mother’s guidance, the narrative follows his ascent through the political ranks of the state of Lu. We witness his dedication to education as a tutor and his rise to prominence within the court, serving as both justice minister and prime minister. Initially, a period of prosperity under his leadership gives way to disillusionment with the pervasive corruption of political life. Seeking a different path, Confucius embarks on a journey of self-discovery, traveling to other states to share his philosophy and offer counsel, grappling with questions of governance and societal harmony in a rapidly changing world. The anime explores themes of duty, morality, and the search for a just society through a character deeply invested in shaping the future of his people.
