Synopsis:
Gamba, an unusually bold resident of a quiet town, embarks on a journey driven by curiosity – the desire to reach the distant ocean. His path crosses with Chuta, a young mouse haunted by tragedy. Chuta recounts the brutal loss of his family and community at the hands of a weasel clan dominating a nearby island, led by the infamous Noroi. Initially met with discouragement from seasoned ship mice, Gamba is deeply moved by Chuta’s despair and vows to intervene. He assembles a diverse group of companions, setting out on a perilous expedition to confront Noroi and liberate the island. The narrative explores themes of courage in the face of adversity, the bonds of friendship forged through shared hardship, and the struggle against overwhelming power in a world viewed from a small perspective. The story unfolds with a focus on character development as they navigate challenging obstacles toward a difficult confrontation.
