Synopsis:

"Virtual Station" blends anime animation with live-action footage to explore complex themes of genetic manipulation and societal consequences. The narrative follows Yui, a "Gene Diver" tasked with retrieving DNA from extinct creatures within a meticulously reconstructed ancient world. However, a system malfunction throws her into an unforeseen virtual reality: a future dominated by the Puglaistig, a highly evolved rodent species.

This new world presents a stark contrast to the historical simulations, where the Puglaistig view humanity as a threat to their existence and actively work to prevent further human evolution.
