Synopsis:
A year has passed since Shinpachi Shimura last saw his hometown of Edo, but the city he returns to is drastically altered. The familiar faces of the Yorozuya – Gintoki and Kagura – are unrecognizable, their personalities and appearances warped beyond comprehension. Amidst this chaos, Shinpachi discovers a deeply unsettling personal upheaval: his sister Otae has unexpectedly married Isao Kondou, the head of the Shinsengumi, and is expecting a child.
At Kondou’s request, Shinpachi joins the Shinsengumi, navigating an organization rife with bizarre transformations. He finds an unexpected anchor in Vice-Chief Hijikata, who remains seemingly unaffected by the city's strange shift. Together, they embark on a journey to understand the cause of these alterations and restore Edo to its former state, facing increasingly absurd situations along the way within this world steeped in historical parody and comedic absurdity. The series explores themes of identity, memory, and the unsettling nature of change within a familiar setting.
