Synopsis:

In a feudal Japan irrevocably altered by the arrival of the Amanto, a foreign power that has humbled the once-respected samurai class, despair permeates the land. Stripped of their honor and traditional roles, samurai now face widespread disdain under the Amanto’s oppressive rule. Driven by a desire to reclaim their lost dignity, Kotarou Katsura, leader of the Anti-Foreigner Faction, prepares a direct assault on the Shinsengumi, a samurai force tasked with maintaining order in Edo.

Amidst this escalating conflict, Gintoki Sakata and his companions find their peaceful outing disrupted by the Shinsengumi’s claim over a cherry blossom viewing spot. This seemingly trivial disagreement quickly escalates into a chaotic confrontation resolved through an unconventional, and surprisingly violent, game of rock-paper-scissors. The series explores themes of honor, societal upheaval, and the struggle for identity in a world grappling with change, all framed within a distinctly Japanese setting.
