Synopsis:
"Planet" is a virtual reality game where a tightly-knit quartet known as the Akabane Family navigates a world of monster battles and guild politics. Within the game, they find a surrogate familial bond – an intimacy absent from their lives outside. The series explores the complex dynamics of this online group: a fractured family mirroring their real-world relationships, marked by distance and unspoken resentment. As the Akabane Family progresses towards the game's ultimate goal, "Black Bird," the lines between virtual and reality begin to blur. The narrative subtly examines themes of belonging, familial connection, and the potential for genuine bonds to form in unexpected places, ultimately questioning the nature of family itself.
