Synopsis:

In the secluded village of Old Home resides a community of Haibane, beings marked by ethereal halos and delicate wings. Rakka emerges from a mysterious cocoon with no recollection of her origins, finding herself navigating a life governed by unspoken restrictions. The Haibane are bound to the village, forbidden from venturing beyond its boundaries, particularly the imposing walls that encircle it. These rules become increasingly unsettling as disappearances plague their community on what they call the "Day of Flight," leaving Rakka and her peers grappling with a void of knowledge about their own existence.

The series explores themes of identity and belonging, as Rakka and others strive to reconcile their present lives with an unknown past. It depicts a quiet, contemplative atmosphere, focusing on the internal struggles of a group seeking solace and understanding within a world that offers few answers. The narrative unfolds through subtle character interactions and atmospheric storytelling, inviting viewers to contemplate the nature of memory and freedom.
