Synopsis:
In the ancient capital of Kyoto, a clandestine investigation unfolds as Takaya arrives to address unsettling activity surrounding the Ikko sect and a former clan member, Araki Murashige. Assisted by his loyal retainer, Haruie, Takaya's pursuit leads him to Araki, who is obsessed with locating a powerful, centuries-old mandala crafted from the hair of deceased Ikko warriors. The investigation takes an unexpected turn when Haruie recognizes Araki as Shintarou, a figure from her past life and a deeply cherished lover. Torn between duty and personal history, Haruie faces a difficult command: eliminate Araki, deemed a threat to the present. The narrative then introduces Naoe, hinting at further complexities within the unfolding events and raising questions about loyalty, fate, and the enduring weight of the past.
