Synopsis:

Astra Ludger Doomsday, a veteran knight seeking peaceful retirement, finds his carefully planned life disrupted by an unexpected arrival. His newfound tranquility is shattered when a young witch apprentice crashes into his home, exhibiting a startlingly misplaced sense of familiarity with the former captain. The narrative unfolds within a world subtly blending familiar fantasy elements with a grounded sense of everyday life.

The story explores themes of identity and purpose as Astra grapples with this strange encounter. As he attempts to navigate the girl's mistaken perception, he’s drawn into a world far beyond his intended seclusion. Expect a character-driven narrative focused on the evolving relationship between a weary warrior and a spirited apprentice, set against a backdrop of gentle mystery and unfolding intrigue. The anime presents a contemplative experience rather than action-packed spectacle.

If you love light, fun slice of life in a fantasy setting with immediately enjoyable characters and cute comedic moments you'll really enjoy this short. Story/Characters: For 15 minutes it set up the world and characters so well. Easily could tell what these characters where to each other by how they interacted. Sound: The ED song is awesome! Turn the Page by Blind Guardian Art: Nice, nothing too special but the character designs were so cute and unique! I will say I am picking up the manga for sure after this! This is a one episode OVA adaptation of the finished manga. I wonder if we'll get afull anime of this one day? It was extremely enjoyable for what it was. Wasn't a wasted 15 minutes! I believe this anime short is best appreciated by those who have already read the manga and are familiar with the characters and their relationships. It feels like a special treat for existing fans—something that adds depth or humor to a scene they already know and love. The episode itself is only about 10 minutes long and focuses on a very specific moment. While that scene was entertaining and had its fun elements, I couldn’t fully enjoy it because I wasn’t familiar with the characters or the context. Without understanding their backstories or how they relate to one another, it’s difficult to grasp the full emotionalweight or humor of the scene.nnIf you’re someone who just happened to stumble upon this anime without any prior knowledge of the source material, I would recommend skipping it—or at least reading the manga first. Otherwise, it might feel a bit confusing or underwhelming, since so much relies on what you already know going in.
