Synopsis:

Set in an alternate 1931 Japan, where the Tokugawa Shogunate maintains power and technological advancement is fueled by a mysterious resource called the Dragon Vein, the anime explores a world steeped in tradition and simmering rebellion. The story follows Sawa Yukimura, a seemingly unassuming bookseller harboring a deep-seated desire for retribution against those responsible for her family's demise. Driven by a unique, blood-borne ability, she joins the Nue, an elite executioner force defending the Shogunate from the Kuchinawa rebel group led by Janome. The narrative unfolds with a focus on political intrigue and personal vendetta, examining themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the cost of pursuing justice within a rigidly hierarchical society.
