Minoru Kagenou dedicated his life to physical strength, a pursuit driven by a desire for inconspicuousness rather than acclaim. He spent his days as an unremarkable student, concealing a nightly vigilante existence dismantling local criminal elements. A near-fatal accident abruptly ended this life, leaving him consumed by the frustration of his mortal limitations.

He awakens as Cid Kagenou in a world steeped in magic, inheriting a noble lineage and finally possessing the power he craved. Adopting the alias "Shadow," Cid founds Shadow Garden, an organization initially intended to combat a self-created, fictional cult known as Diablos. However, the Cult's unsettling reality begins to bleed into Cid’s world, blurring the lines between imagination and existence, and forcing him to confront the true nature of his newfound abilities and the responsibility that comes with them. The series explores themes of power, identity, and the unexpected consequences of creation.
