Synopsis:
Set against a backdrop of 19th-century Japan undergoing rapid industrialization spurred by foreign technology, this anime explores themes of progress, tradition, and the consequences of unchecked ambition. Years after an initial encounter with Western mechanization, the nation is grappling with the integration of steam-powered inventions and intricate automatons. A young boy named Hiwou finds his peaceful life shattered when a radical group known as the Wind Gang attacks his village, seeking to accelerate industrial growth through violent means.
