Synopsis:
The aftermath of a devastating civil war has birthed a new conflict. Born from desperate measures, the "Incarnates" – soldiers possessing extraordinary strength derived from within – were instrumental in securing victory for the Northern forces. However, the very nature of their power became a source of profound suffering. Years after the war's end, these individuals, burdened by internal struggles, are hunted by specialized Beast Hunters tasked with ending their lives.
Nancy Schaal Bancroft, driven by revenge for her father – a former Incarnate slain by a Hunter – begins to investigate the origins of this grim task. Her pursuit leads her down a path of inquiry into the societal implications of the Incarnates' existence and the true cost of their wartime heroism. The series explores themes of trauma, responsibility, and the blurred lines between soldier and monster within a world grappling with the consequences of its own creation.
