    Synopsis:

    Set aboard the Macross Frontier, a sprawling colony ship adrift in the galaxy after a devastating conflict with giant alien beings, the series follows the everyday lives of its inhabitants. In 2059, a routine performance by popular singer Sheryl Nome is violently interrupted by the arrival of the Vajra, a biomechanical species that breaches the ship's defenses and unleashes widespread panic. Amidst the chaos, a young woman named Ranka Lee is endangered, prompting an intervention by Alto Saotome, a mecha pilot trainee. This incident draws attention to Alto’s aptitude for combat, leading to his recruitment into the military to confront the escalating Vajra threat. The narrative explores themes of responsibility, unexpected heroism, and adapting to unforeseen circumstances within a confined, artificial world facing an unknown enemy.
