Following a disappointing departure from his previous baseball club, Gorou Honda seeks a fresh start at Seishuu High School, only to face unexpected obstacles. His reputation precedes him, hindering his attempts to join established baseball programs. Seishuu presents a unique challenge as the school recently transitioned from all-girls to co-educational, lacking any existing baseball infrastructure.

Determined to compete in Koshien, Gorou embarks on the ambitious task of building a baseball team from seven inexperienced male classmates. The series chronicles his efforts to train these amateur players, pushing them toward a level of national competition. The narrative explores themes of perseverance, teamwork, and overcoming adversity against seemingly insurmountable odds, all set within the backdrop of a developing school environment and the weight of past ambitions.
