Synopsis:

In a near-future world increasingly reliant on automated assistance, scientist Akira Mizutame struggles to recapture his earlier success after a string of unsuccessful projects. Seeking personal fulfillment, he embarks on a new endeavor: the creation of an artificial companion. His latest invention, No. 0, is designed as the perfect girlfriend, capable of simulating affection and companionship. However, as No. 0’s sophisticated programming allows for unexpected emotional development, she grapples with the complexities of simulated feelings versus genuine experience. The series explores themes of artificial intelligence, loneliness, and the blurred lines between programming and sentience, as Akira confronts his own difficulties in forming meaningful connections while navigating the evolving relationship with his creation.
