Birthigin is a planet that has been stripped of its natural resources due to the humanity's aggressive technological endeavors leaving the land barren and causing a natural phenomenon called purple fog altering the planet's landscape and putting it at risk of destruction. The now barren planet has lost all hope and is now home to humans that evolved because of the purple fog and are known as mutants; an escort ship that was intercepted by rebellion forces on Birthigin grounded in a warehouse where siblings Miya and Nova were scouting for food. They come across an undamaged room with a 'coffin' in it; after seeinga child in the coffin they quickly run back home to take care of this unconscious child. Unbeknownst to them, Miya and Nova's caregiver realized this child was a subhuman and attempts to tip off the local forces of Ray's existence. Ray, a subhuman vessel carrying a high tech AI weapons system finds himself in the midst of a 3 way faction fight out over his vessel which only intensifies as the story progresses.nnStory: 4/10nThe story is pretty deep for a 10 episode first season. It covers all the basic aspects of the world and which faction is good or evil. However, it's because the series starts off in the deep end that we barely get a grasp of the overall story - we don't know about these subhumans or mutant humans even about the living conditions outside of these mutant human settlements. The purple fog and even the organisms are some lore that acts as a barrier preventing plot development outside of the enclosed world around the MC, Ray. It seems the side-kick characters have the same plot armor as the main character when they are in the midst of fighting as enemy shots never make contact or they get very lucky running away from the purple organisms chasing them. It is deep but the story doesn't step back and elaborate on these important pieces of information before developing the story.nnArt & sound: 5/10nFor a series produced in 2014, the art wasn't too bad. It felt like I was watching a student-made blender animation using free visual assets. Before watching the series, I looked at bloopers and discovered that the characters were rigged using motion capture tech which was surprising looking back 5/6 years. Apart from that, it feels like a blender animation like Killer Bean. nnSound also felt like stock audio, nothing out of the ordinary. Edit: Just a reminder there are some parts where the female VAs have moaning for a solid 20-30 seconds which is kind of above and beyond of a voice actor in this particular genre... nnCharacter: 3/10nSince the first season is so short, they had to cram all character establishment and development in the first couple of episodes. We are introduced to the siblings Miya and Nova in episode 1 and Ray in episode 2, shortly after we are introduced to Bing in episode 3. After that it's just…
