Megalo Box unfolds in a world where competitive boxing has evolved with the introduction of specialized metal frameworks called Gears. The story centers on "Nomad," formerly known as Gearless Joe, a legendary figure who abruptly disappeared after a pivotal tournament victory seven years prior. Now living a secluded life punctuated by underground fights and the constant struggle to suppress vivid hallucinations, Nomad is offered an unexpected connection through Chief, a fellow fighter from an immigrant community striving for stability.

As Nomad becomes aware of the Casa’s precarious situation – their fight for land and survival – he grapples with his past and decides to offer assistance. The series explores themes of identity, societal disparity, and the enduring impact of trauma within a gritty, visually striking setting where physical prowess meets complex human struggles.
