Synopsis:
The anime explores the complexities of identity and ambition through the lens of a former idol. Following the departure of Mima Kirigoe from the popular J-pop group CHAM!, the series charts her transition into acting and the unforeseen consequences. As Mima navigates the demanding world of dramatic roles, she grapples with a fractured sense of self and mounting pressure. Her attempts to distance herself from her idol persona are met with a disturbing escalation of obsessive attention – from a devoted fan’s increasingly invasive behavior to the unsettling emergence of a fabricated online presence mirroring her life. Simultaneously, CHAM! seems to thrive without her, adding to Mima's growing isolation and blurring the lines between reality and perception as she struggles to maintain control over her narrative. The story examines the toll of fame and the fragile nature of identity in the public eye.
