Synopsis:

Following his parents' relocation, Yuu Narukami relocates to the quiet town of Inaba for a year, enrolling at Yasogami High School. He quickly integrates into a group of classmates – Yousuke, Chie, and Yukiko – and becomes entangled in local folklore surrounding the "Midnight Channel," a television broadcast appearing only on rainy nights. Driven by curiosity, Yuu’s viewing of the channel leads him to an unsettling discovery: glimpses of the town's escalating series of murders.

This experience propels Yuu and his friends into a hidden realm accessible through the television, a fog-laden landscape populated by dangerous entities called Shadows. The group forms the Investigation Team to understand the connection between this otherworldly dimension and the crimes plaguing Inaba. The anime explores themes of identity, perception, and the blurred lines between reality and illusion as they navigate this strange new world while seeking answers.
