    Synopsis:

    In the world of Alcia, societal standing is dictated by numerical "Counts" etched onto individuals, shaping their lives and power. A Count reaching zero results in a descent to the Abyss, a fate feared above all else. Hina, driven by a promise to her mother who vanished into the Abyss, embarks on a quest for the legendary Aces – figures from a forgotten war marked by a white star beside their Count.

    Her journey leads her to Licht Bach, a masked wanderer burdened with a negative Count and a hidden past, and Nana, a tavern keeper offering respite from a fractured society. A fateful encounter thrusts Hina into conflict, prompting Licht to reveal his own secret: he is an Ace, carrying the mark of a legendary hero. Through their encounters, the narrative explores themes of social inequality, forgotten history, and the potential for hope in a world defined by predetermined fates. The series follows Hina and her companions as they unravel the mysteries surrounding Alcia's origins and the true nature of the Abyss.
