Synopsis:
Set in a distant past of the Pokémon world, this four-episode series follows a young researcher venturing into the vast, untamed wilderness of the Hisui region. Driven by a desire to understand the region's unique ecosystem and its ancient Pokémon, the protagonist encounters both familiar and unfamiliar creatures, navigating a landscape steeped in both wonder and danger. The narrative explores themes of scientific curiosity versus preservation, depicting the challenges of studying a world where technology is rudimentary. The series offers a contemplative atmosphere, prioritizing environmental observation and character interactions over high-octane action sequences. It provides a glimpse into a bygone era, highlighting the delicate balance between humanity and the natural world as it unfolds in this historical setting.

User GakutoDeathGlare (Score: 5/10):
Should have been called something like Pokemon (2019): The Raging Berserker Heatran, because that's what we pretty much got for majority of the four episode special, I feel slightly cheated here. Arceus, after seemingly much internal debate, finally decides to give a shit and shows up at the end, when the danger is at it's peak. Celebrating the release of the new Pokemon game Legends: Arceus, we have Ash and Go back in Sinnoh where they meet up (coincidentally I might add lol) with Dawn and Brock and the Champion Cynthia. Team Galactic are back somehow, looks like Sinnoh Police didn't do that great ofa job, and are looking for a way to find their old boss who disappeared into a time/space portal some years ago. nnOverall, it just felt rather plain and slow paced, you had four episodes to work with, I feel like they could have done so much more. Maybe it's just because I don't like Heatran that much and they decided to work the story around this Pokemon. nnYes, there was some fanservice, Brock taking his shirt off (homage to gen 1 though already happened in Sun and Moon) or Cynthia battling, but it was short and minimal. Again, left wanting more.nnThe best part was Arceus not giving a shit about Team Galactic's final plea to the whereabouts of their beloved boss lol... nn5/10 for an underwhelming edition of Pokemon. Those many spinoffs over the past couple of years are much better.
