Synopsis:
In a secluded, isolated setting, the lives of siblings Utsutsu and Yume are irrevocably altered by the arrival of peculiar red butterflies. Their idyllic existence shatters as a strange affliction, later known as Pupa, begins to spread, triggering horrifying transformations within the population. Yume succumbs to the virus, becoming a creature driven by an unnatural hunger, while Utsutsu develops unusual regenerative abilities, though not without a cost.
Driven by a deep-seated promise to protect his sister, Utsutsu navigates a decaying world, confronting both external threats and the agonizing reality of Yume's condition. The narrative explores themes of familial devotion, sacrifice, and the blurred lines between humanity and monstrousness within a suspenseful atmosphere. It depicts a poignant struggle against an overwhelming tide of biological horror, examining the lengths one will go to safeguard those they love.
