Synopsis:
The series follows Dai Mugen, a young man who abandoned his drumming aspirations following a decisive loss. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Goutetsu, a being claiming divine status. Goutetsu enlists Dai as his "oyakata," a coach tasked with guiding him in kamizumo – ritualistic sumo battles between deities.
Kamizumo draws power from the rhythmic drumming of its oyakata, compelling Dai to confront his past insecurities and rediscover his lost passion for music. The narrative explores themes of mentorship, self-belief, and finding purpose in unconventional paths. As Dai and Goutetsu progress through kamizumo matches, they navigate a world of ancient traditions and powerful beings, pushing both of them towards realizing their full potential on the path to the highest level of competition.
