Synopsis:
The narrative unfolds in a quiet Hokkaido town, where the everyday concerns of high school life are abruptly shattered. Chise, a delicate and unassuming student, shares a close bond with Shuuji, navigating the typical dramas of adolescence. Their peaceful existence is irrevocably altered when a devastating aerial attack initiates a large-scale conflict. Now, their familiar world is consumed by escalating conflict and the unsettling question of Chise’s humanity. The story explores the complexities of love and identity amidst catastrophic change as Shuuji grapples with the reality of the person he knows and the weapon she has become.
