Synopsis:

Set against the backdrop of Edo period Japan, the story follows Masanosuke "Masa" Akitsu, a ronin grappling with self-doubt. Haunted by a reputation for unreliability despite his swordsmanship, Masa's path takes an unexpected turn when he accepts a seemingly simple bodyguard position from the enigmatic Yaichi. This introduction plunges him into the world of the Five Leaves, a clandestine group involved in activities far removed from honorable samurai pursuits.

As Masa becomes increasingly entangled with the Five Leaves, he is forced to confront his own moral compass. Driven by a desire to understand the group's origins and motivations, he navigates a complex landscape of loyalty, deception, and the blurred lines between right and wrong. The series explores themes of identity, purpose, and the cost of upholding one's principles in a world where those principles are constantly tested.
