Each story unfolds in two parts, providing self-contained vignettes that highlight the humor and gentle character studies central to the series.

Tenchi in Tokyo anime was so good that it got some short specials on DVD as fanservice. Best to experience after finishing the TV series because all these specials are linear in storytelling, it's basically one big episode cut into 6 chunks though it wouldn't kill anyone if watched after episode 2 for it's just a wacky slice of life event about Tenchi going in a school trip while his horny waifus hijack the train. Either way, watch this in full whenever. Same poor artstyle, same mediocre OST and same type of comedic situations as the main show, our girls get lots of screentime though Sakuya getsmore, she has the main girl energy here, the intergalactic villain aliens don't appear. Not much sexiness or ecchi, never expected it anyways considering the state of Tenchi IP in those days, when staff is mediocre the anime will be mediocre too.nThe good thing is that it is animated but as restrictive as the TV show, nothing fancy.nnA good watch if you liked Shin Tenchi (Tenchi in Tokyo), other than that, a simply forgettable anime.
