    Synopsis:

    Following a recent victory against a devastating catastrophe, Naofumi Iwatani, the Shield Hero, finds himself thrust into a new crisis. Tasked by Queen Mirelia with locating the vanished Cardinal Heroes, Naofumi’s search leads him to the mercenary nation of Zeltoble. There, he confronts the brutal reality of a flourishing demi-human slave trade. To fund efforts to liberate these individuals, Naofumi and his companions engage in dangerous underground arena combat, strategically manipulating outcomes for financial gain. As they navigate this morally complex underworld, the ever-present threat of another catastrophic event underscores the urgency of Naofumi's primary objective: reuniting with the missing heroes before disaster strikes. The series explores themes of justice, sacrifice, and the difficult choices required to protect those vulnerable to exploitation.
