Synopsis:
In a near-future Japan grappling with heightened security concerns, the government expands the authority of the Media Betterment Committee following a devastating incident at a nuclear power plant. This expansion puts author Kurato Touma under scrutiny due to perceived thematic connections between his novels and the attack. To protect him, journalist Maki Orikuchi requests the assistance of the Library Defense Force (LDF).
The LDF finds itself embroiled in a complex situation, balancing their protective duties with the growing controversy surrounding the MBC's new powers. Simultaneously, within the LDF, relationships begin to form among the task force members as they navigate an increasingly unstable political landscape. The series explores themes of freedom of expression, governmental overreach, and the delicate balance between public safety and individual liberties, all set against a backdrop of technological advancement and societal anxieties.
