The wonderland of ten thousand / Wan Jie Xian Zong Review In simple terms, Wan Jie Xian Zong is a Chinese Donghua about a young genius disciple that inherits the clan leader's position after he goes into eternal sleep. The disciple is scheming and cunning, willing to use any trick up his sleeve to manipulate everyone around him to gather manpower to fight against their clan's sworn enemy (that caused a massive clan war resulting 700 clan casualties) In Wan Jie Xian Zong, our main character Ye Xingyu does some investigations for the best victim of his identity theft scheme, a person with hidden royal bloodlinewhere he can pull the strings from a safe distance. He encounters such person who is a son of King Qi's concubine but since the person is useless, he isn't able to reach his potential. This is where Ye Xingyu comes in and steals his position by acting in as him and as such gathering man power as a disciple of a servant family. nnStory : 5/10nnThe story is pretty basic, instead of the cliche reincarnation Ye Xingyu instead chooses to replace the character and pull strings. The story doesn't have any symbolism or significant literature related motive which is good because it's an entertainment opmc series, boasting over 18 hours of content over 5 seasons. This is the Japanese equivalent of having 4 seasons with 13 episodes but it's much more entertaining and requires less brain cells to stay in tune with the plot. nnnArt & Sound : 4/10 & 3/10nnIt's pretty clear from the first episode that this series doesn't have a big budget for flashy high polygonal CGI facial animation or highly choreographed character rigged fight scenes detailed to perfection but I would prefer this than a terribly adapted 2D donghua.nnThe audio is subpar, nothing noteworthy or iconic when it comes to background music or opening soundtracks. Furthermore the sound FX are fairly generic too which isn't a surprise considering the animation quality even in the later seasons. nnCharacter : 6/ 10 nnThis character is a mystery sometimes, he has innate potential to rule his clan as a powerful disciple but chooses to stay out of the limelight and replace him with the younger brother of the disabled girl he cured. In some aspects, he does give a similar mental strategy intent to Classroom of the Elite's MC Ayanokouji, Kiyotaka albeit with stronger feelings to multiple women. The story does start slow which requires a lot of persistent to establish the characters; I almost personally got confused with who the MC was in the beginning because I've seen many reincarnation where the old guy becomes reborn as a kid but fortunately this Ye Xingyu is a real human child. nnEnjoyment : 5/10nnBeware of how the story isn't always about Ye Xingyu, his job is more about recruiting with his genius intelligence. Apart from him playing tricks on girls, curing their poison or teasing them the series doesn't have much intense moments. Alas,…
