Once upon a time ? Unless in the process of creating something closer to an Art Performance or a Happenning (which almost ensure that viewers won't understand at least 50% of it anyway) than an anime, there's at least 2 things that should be quite important, regardless of the rest : The story, and its flow. Obviously, I'm not trying to reduce the importance of the visual, the music/sound, acting etc etc, but I would like to point out that when an anime fails very early to provide a fluid story, or - at the very least - a correct way to address its audience, itbasically fails to communicate anything. nThe point being - unfortunately - that this is the very basic problem of Wo De Tian Jie Nv You : nYou will rapidely notice, from the 1st episode at that, a very clumsy, naive, almost crude way of telling a story. nFor example, basic transitions from a scene to another are pitiful, leading to misunderstandings about what happened. nOr sequences introduced so fast that the viewers will fail to understand to which events these are supposed to be related.nOr catastrophic CG effects (to the point that calling them CG is already a praise) which, inconsistent at best and perfectible at worst, won't do much to immerse the viewers into the painful story.nThis could have been done a lot better, but since it fails at this early state of its execution, I think Wo De Tian Jie Nv You would have been better without existing at all, or delayed further in order to prevent these kinds of flaws. nI don't recommend it at all, unless you're an inconditional chinese anime lover. And even with that, watching this anime won't get exactly easier... -

I feel like I just watched a speed run of every shoen anime smashed together and blended into a tasteless paste. It's like they worked off a trope list, everything is just fine. back stories kind of just thrown at the wall. art was good, some scenes were great actually (although conflicts and fight scenes were like a mix of kung fu by wire live action style and old superhero cartoons). I guess there is a cultural divide on how the Chinese look at relationships, but it was hard to understand motives of characters past the plot armor. I will say one thing aboutthe rushed pace, at least I didnt have to suffer through filler or moments designed to pull emotion that would have been a failure if the emotional depth of these characters is evidence. the premise is cool, but it definitely watches like a middle school fanfic reads. the MC is literally a duality of idiot and bran flakes. nothing wrong with it, I just fell for the hype from the few YouTube videos it was featured in, and got burned this time. It has a few moments that if cherry picked make it look fantastic. maybe the creators will hone their craft and make something great in a few years. nnedit ~ wrote this before the final fight scene, and while it stands I will say the ending was decent. not great, but the cartoon fight was replaced by some decent action, the plot twist was present but not as hard hitting as i think they were going for, and the MC saving the day didnt feel forced so it wasn't an unfulfilling ending even if it was lacking in flavor
