Synopsis:
Set against a backdrop of quiet winter fields, this short film explores themes of perception and prejudice through the eyes of two siblings. Shirou and Kanko encounter Konzaburou, a fox cub, challenging their preconceived notions about foxes’ reputation for trickery. Their burgeoning friendship leads them to an unexpected invitation – a secret evening performance held deep within the forest.
The narrative unfolds with a gentle pace, inviting viewers into a world where folklore blurs with reality. It examines how societal biases can shape our understanding of others and highlights the potential for connection even in the most unfamiliar creatures. Rooted in the work of Miyazawa Kenji, the film offers a thoughtful meditation on empathy, acceptance, and the power of shared experience to redefine what we believe to be true.
