Synopsis:
Generations ago, humanity fled a ravaged Earth for Planet Zi, a world dominated by sentient mechanical creatures called Zoids. Now, Zi itself is succumbing to ecological collapse, forcing its inhabitants to embark on a perilous return journey to their ancestral home. The ambitious "Zi-Forming" project to revitalize Earth has failed, leaving the planet scarred by unstable weather and overrun by unpredictable Zoids. Amidst this turmoil, the remnants of human society—organized into competing Empire and Republic factions—struggle for survival, focusing on excavating buried Zoids for military advantage.
The narrative centers on Leo Conrad and Buzz Cunningham, two young people whose lives intersect with Sally Land during a desperate escape from the oppressive Empire. Their encounter sets them on a path to uncover the truth behind Earth's fate and navigate the complex political landscape of a world irrevocably changed by the clash between humanity and the mechanical life that now shapes their destiny. The series explores themes of adaptation, conflict, and the consequences of environmental upheaval in a post-apocalyptic setting.
